Tick...tock...tick...tock...the sound of a clock counting each second that passes by is heard as the scene opens up with a man laying on his back in the middle of the ring. He is using both of his hands as a pillow while he just lies there looking up at the ceiling. This ring is different from any other wrestling ring, because it is left unfinished. The turnbuckles are missing, along with the ropes that hook to them. It is just the big padded square that wrestlers have fell on time and time again. On the outside black padded mats are surrounding the ring, and just like the ring he is in. They are drenched with sweat. Farther past the center of the ring you can see a rope dangling from the ceiling. Past that are sets of weights that are in many different shapes and sizes. Some of the weights are left unorganized and thrown on the floor. Meanwhile the camera begins to approach the ring. You can see the bald headed mans head shine from the sweat that is being reflected from the sun that enters from a few windows that are placed against the cement wall. The man that is now revealed as Seth Akira is breathing heavily. You can hear each breath he takes inhaling from his nose and exhaling through his mouth. You can see his stomach rising because he is left shirtless wearing his casual wrestling gear. After a long inhale that almost sounds like a sigh. He begins to talk.
Everyday I come here to train. I come to this personal gym of mine that I have spent my own personal income on, to get the most out of my wrestling career. Seven days a week, at-least twelve hours a day I am here. Whether I have an opponent the following week or not, this is where I spend most of my time. I have no family to take care of, and I have no mouths to feed but my own. This is my passion, and it is all I have to live for. I have shed more blood, sweat, and tears into my own training facility than I have spent actually wrestling. Some people may call me crazy, and some may even call me unhappy. The average person always judges your life thinking you need much more in life to keep you happy. They all believe you need a family and someone to love you to keep you satisfied. And I don't disagree, they are all partially correct. But maybe I am not ready for a family? Maybe I am too dedicated to this sport to have such a big responsibility. Maybe I am unhappy, but I am not unsatisfied.
What I do week in and week out keeps me completely satisfied, because this is what I live for. When my music starts to play, and the thousands of people in attendance begin to cheer. When the people begin to chant my name. I get the best feeling in the world. The fans are what keep me going, and these fans are what keep me happy. It doesn't matter how many people boo me, and I could care less if the critics believe I am overrated or not. I do this for myself, and for my fans. So when people find me in the streets and confront me about my loss against Justin Tyger. It doesn't affect my confidence. Because Justin Tyger is one of the best EVER to set foot in a ring. Why would I be ashamed of that? It is an honor to face someone such as Tyger, because he is a legend and he is a friend to many other competitors. Outside of the ring Justin Tyger is so easy to get along with. And inside of the ring, he proves to everyone why he is considered to be one of the best in the business. So no I am not ashamed, because if Shawn feels like I have the ability to stand toe to toe with such men. I don't take it as an insult, I am not going to complain that Justin Tyger is almost unbeatable. Because he isn't, he was just like everybody else in this business. What made Justin Tyger the best, is the same thing that made Randy Orton one of the best. Dedication, and experience.
A drop of sweat falls into the left eye of Seth as it closes almost immediately after. Seth begins to rub his eye as he stands up and works his way to the end of the ring. As he jumps off onto one of the mats that are on the floor you see his knees buckle causing him to stumble a bit. He plays it off and continues to walk straight ahead passed the rope that dangles on the ceiling above. Still rubbing at his eye he works his way towards the weights until he approaches a padded bench with a towel that seems to be partially wet. He picks the towel up and begins to pat it on his face.
Tick...tock...tick..tock..
The ticking noise is getting louder as Seth looks up at the wall. Seth is now standing directly underneath of the clock that reads 4:38. He wipes the top of his forehead then places the towel on the back of his neck as he takes a seat on the bench. He is now hunched over looking at the ground but quickly raises his head looking back into the lens of the camera.
When you talk about dedication and experience. Randy Orton is the perfect example, and I will tell you why. It's the same reason why I look up to Randy Orton. At times Randy Orton was just like everybody else. He was considered to be "low talent" or in other words a mid-carder. Many of the critics believed that Randy could only accomplish so much, but he has always stuck around and never gave up. And now not only is Randy Orton the world heavyweight champion. Randy holds the most unbelievable record in SNME history.
And it's amazing Orton. Seventy four matches into your career, and this is the very first time we will step toe to toe in that ring with one another. But in a way I am glad we never had a match together. Because the Randy Orton five years ago is nothing compared to the Randy Orton now. The Randy Orton now not only has experience on his side against ALL of his opponents, but he also has dedication on his side. And for the past five years Randy hasn't slowed down since.
A closed grin grows on the face of Seth.
You have no idea how much I am looking forward to this match Orton, you have no idea how honored I am to be lucky number seventy five. I am finally reaching the peak of my career where I have always dreamt of being, and I have never been so happy. I am at a point in my career where I am having fun doing what I do. I am not only facing legends in this business. These aren't just people I look up to. The people I have been stepping into the ring with are my heroes.
Yes I said it Randy, you are a hero to me and I respect the hell out of you. You are the reason why I come to this gym everyday. Randy, your dedication to this sport is what inspired me to do what I do. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for you. You truly are one of the best in this sport Orton, and you've truly earned that. But if you think I am going to sit here and kiss your ass this entire time you are wrong. You and I are just like everybody else in this sport. We all proclaim ourselves to be the best, and at this very moment Orton. That title that you currently have sitting next to your bed. That's the prestigious award that tells everybody you are the best...and I want it.
I know this is not a championship title match, but Orton if I beat you here tonight. I might just damn well get one, and if I am given a chance at that title. I will take it from you, or anyone else that gets in my way. I don't want to be like you Orton. I NEED to be like you, I need to be the best. Because I have nothing left to go to, I don't have any family to go back too. I don't have a girlfriend to comfort me when my career begins to get rocky....because this is EVERYTHING to me. I sit here each and everyday after a long draining day of training...and I here that clock right there.
Seth looks up at the clock on the wall.
Do you here it Orton? Tick...tock...tick...tock.
That sound can really screw with your head. Because after every tick and after each tock seconds are going by, and each second that goes by we gain one step closer to our match..and it's a proven fact that we are some of the most dedicated superstars to compete in this ring...and we both know it can go either way. It doesn't really matter how confident or cocky a man could be. Because every match that people like us step into, it can be compared to something like..... I don't know. A viper. When a viper strikes, it's deadly...and it strikes fast. In an instant it can be over. And it doesn't matter how long or hard you've been training. It really doesn't matter if you have the legacy of Justin Tyger or Raven. At any given moment at any given time either of us could strike, and it could end in the blink of an eye.
I do believe you earned everything you've accomplished. I do believe you deserve it all. If anyone were to hold that World Heavyweight Championship rather than me. I would want it to be you, and I am damn glad to see that it is you. But I want it more....and I promise you after I beat you here tonight. I will let everyone know that I am for real, and maybe....just maybe. Seth Akira will get his FIRST EVER title shot here in SNME. So be ready Mr. Orton, because if you do blink. I am going to take everything you worked so hard for away from you. Then when I enter the ring with your world championship and claim it as my own, all those cheers that I hear when my music hits the arena. All those people I here chanting my name, will grow......and I will feed off of those cheers...and I will give those fans what they want. I will put on a show each and every week to let them all know... I needed to be the best because....
I am the best.
Seth looks straight ahead of him but the smile that was on his face is no longer there. But a look of confidence grows, as he stands up and walks passed the scenery. The scene fades to black alone with the ticking noise of the clock. Tick...tock...tick...t[/b]
