Saturday Night's Main Event: Redefined TV
LIVE! From The Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut!
12/8/07
A video package of some of SNME's greatest moments begins to play along with "Given Up" by Linkin Park. The video suddenly shatters as we are taken live into the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut! The camera searches through the sold out crowd as they cheer. The camera view changes and we are looking on at the stage where giant pyros begin to explode. Finally flames ignite the stage as the lights come on. We are then taken over to the broadcast table with Austin Owens and Joey Styles.
Styles: We are live from the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut, and folks . . . What a night it will be. We've got a card that is stacked, and literally . . . I mean it is stacked!
Owens: That's right, Joey! Tonight you're going to witness some amazing matches. But . . . I'm not going to spoil them for you. We know . . . You guys don't! So watch the show!
Styles: Austin, last week in the main event we saw Seth Akira and Kurt Angle go head to head. It was Kurt Angle who came out with the win, but Seth showed us something last week. He could very well have what it takes to takes things to the next level for his career. But only time will tell.
Owens: Yeah, Joey. But tell me this . . . Who is going to defeat Kurt Angle? We've seen Jericho draw him, but still . . . No one has shown that they are the superior superstar since he won the World Heavyweight Championship at Seven Deadly Sins.
Styles: Some say no one. Some say Sting. And Austin, at Cyber Madness Sting and Kurt Angle will step into the ring for the second time in a one on one encounter. All stops have been pulled out. This is what the fans have wanted to see since they saw it for the first time at Summer Meltdown. And Austin, they're going to get it.
Owens: But Joey, we can't ignore everything else. We've got that huge fatal four way for the Intercontinental Championship. And Joey, the talent in that match . . . Its unbelievable. You've got Sam X, Seth Akira, Brandovirus, and The Roy. Four men who you do not want to mess with in that ring. And then we've got Mister Kennedy and Raven. For over two months, Kennedy has been itching at the bits to get his hands on Raven. These two have never competed in one on one competition before, and it is going to be insane!
Styles: And remember, we've also got the Gold Rush Tournament! We saw what Roy did to the Custom Championship just moments after winning it, and now a new Custom Championwhill be crowned. A man that deserves it and will have to fight his way through a plethora of talent to get it. Who will it be? Edge? Mike Awesome? Bryan Danielson? Darren Mack?
Owens: I don't know, Joey. But let's get this show on the road, shall we?
Styles: You said it!
Playing faintly, and then increasing in volume, "Burn In My Light" by Mercy Drive blares through the entire arena. A chorus of cheers and boos suddenly erupts from the crowd. The curtains are suddenly parted with a hand. There he stands, dressed in black dress pants and a black dress shirt - the sleeves rolled up. With the same cocky smirk he's always had, "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton makes his way out onto the stage. Looking for the cue in the music, he suddenly raises his arms. A golden array of shimmering sparks falls behind him, almost forming a wall of gold. The sparks fall and fall, until finally the smoke from them begins to linger. Randy Orton slowly lowers his arms, the cocky grin even bigger than before. He slowly begins to make his way down the ramp, women admiring him from every direction. Men envying him from all around. Orton quickly makes it to the ring and slowly walks up the steps.
Styles: Well, as you can see . . . Randy Orton has decided to head to the ring. What for . . . I have no clue.
Owens: Well, Joey . . . When you're someone like Randy Orton, you can do what you want, whenever you want. And I guess Orton decided it was time to come down to the ring to start things off.
Orton poses on the turnbuckle - women almost drooling over him. He then climbs down, asking for a microphone. He snatches the microphone from Howard Finkel and begins to pace back and fourth. After thinking of what exactly he has to say, Orton stops - center ring.
Orton: Last week, you were supposed to witness Randy Orton's magnificent return . . . Last week, you were supposed to witness "The Legend Killer" doing what he does best . . . Winning! But . . . Due to certain circumstances . . . My win was prevented. Due to Batista's distraction, it cost me the match!
Yeah, I'm sure all of you are sitting there thinking, "Why does Randy always have to complain? Why does Randy always blame his losses on others?" Go ahead, think it! But when it comes down to it, all of you know . . . Each and ever damn last one of you know that last week I was screwed out of beating Brandovirus. And Batista . . . I hope you're happy. I damn well hope you are. Because I'm going to tell these people something tonight . . .
So listen up good, morons. At Cyber Madness, I will be facing one of three Legends in this very ring. Choice number one . . . "The Game" Triple H. Might as well not choose him, he'll just no show the event . . . Choice number two . . . "HBK" Shawn Michaels. Been there . . . Done that. And finally . . . Choice number three . . . "The Animal" Batista! And if you people are smart . . . You'll vote for one person and one person only - Batista! Because there is nothing more I'd like to do than -
"MISSSTTTTEEERRRR KENNNEEEDDDYYY....
Keenneedy!!!"
Randy is suddenly interrupted by "Turn Up The Trouble". Through the curtain steps Mr. Kennedy, a smirk across his face. With a microphone already in his hand, Kennedy quickly makes his way down the ramp and rolls into the ring. His music quickly fades away.
Mr. Kennedy: Randy, Randy, Randy . . . Does it always have to be this way? Do you always have to come out and complain? Does it? Huh? Well, Randy . . . I don't think it does. Because ya' see . . . No matter how much you stand in this ring and complain to these people and management . . . Nothing is going to change the fact that you got beat by . . . By Brandovirus! Pfft! I mean come on, Randy . . . It was your big return match. The match that everyone . . . And I mean everyone, hell even myself, was looking forward to. And what happens? You let Batista distract you and cost you the match. Nice one, Randy . . . Nice one.
Orton: Kennedy, how about you shut that big mouth of yours before I shove this mic down your throat, huh?
Mr. Kennedy: Does that make you feel good? Threatening me like that. Pfft! Randy, threaten me all you want, man. Nothing you say is going to make me back down right now. Because you see, I'm back Randy. That's right, you heard me. MISSSTTTTEEERRRR KENNNEEEDDDYYY....
Orton: We get the point. okay?
Mr. Kennedy: KENNEDY! Is back! So Randy, being that last week was your big return match . . . It looks like I'm almost due for one. So what do ya' say? For old times sake . . . Uh, me and you. Huh? What do ya' think? Doesn't that sound great?
Orton: Kennedy, I'd love nothing more than to prove to these people that last week was not the real Randy Orton they saw . . . But this week . . . I will be ruthless . . . I will be "The Legend Killer!"
Orton suddenly drops the microphone, getting nose to nose with Kennedy. Kennedy simply begins to laugh, showing no signs of backing down from Randy. We quickly cut to commercial.
vs.
Sam X vs. Seth Akira
The arena starts to get cold as the purple and red lights start to affect the arena, as red fog starts to swarm the entrance ramp. A man is seen in the darkness, looking like a shadow as he walks closer to the light. Seth is seen standing there with his head pointing down, as there is no emotion on his face at all. He looks like he is disturbed and wants to destroy all, but is hiding it with there emotionless face. He looks up as everyone can see the red paint smeared underneath his eye, he starts to walk down to the ring as the lights start to flicker on and off, as it seems Seth is getting closer to the ring faster than he should be. About 10 seconds Seth appears from the top of the ramp into the ring staring into the crowd. The lights come on as Seth is wearing his regular wrestling gear and nothing more.
“Follow” blares over the arena as Sam X strides onto the stage, looking confident as always. X wears his tag title strapped across his waist. Sam walks down to the ring, keeping his eye on Seth. X rolls into the ring, and unstraps the Tag Title. X raises it above his head, and then ands it to the referee. Sam looks at Seth, eyeing him strategically. The ref hands the belt to the ring crew, and calls for the bell.
Sam and Seth look at each other with different eyes. Sam is calculating while Seth’s are manic. Sam begins to circle around the ring, Seth stepping in line with him. X and Akira tie up, elbow-collar, and struggle for power. Sam overpowers Seth into a standing side headlock, and wrenches at his head. Seth tries to push Sam off, but X spins around, and gets Seth in a hammer lock. Akira goes for elbows to the head, but Sam ducks underneath them, and hits a Northern Lights Suplex! X bridges!
“1…2..”
Akira kicks out at 2. Sam picks Seth up by his head, and delivers a toe kick to his stomach. Akira bends over, and Sam grabs him by the head. X throws Akira’s arm over his own head, and then lifts him up, in a vertical Suplex position. Sam stalls a bit, and then drops Seth onto his back powerfully. X taunts the crowd, displaying his impressive body and muscles. Seth Akira gets up to his feet behind Sam, and stands behind the tag champion. Sam turns around, and is met by a forearm to the face, courtesy of Seth. Akira whips Sam across the ring, and as Sam comes bouncing back, Seth Akira flips him over with a back body drop. Sam crashes onto the mat, clutching his back in pain as Akira wastes no time in going back on offense. Seth lays in some stomps on one of his opponents at Cyber Madness, drilling his boots into X’s stomach. Akira hesitates for a moment, and Sam snatches his leg out from under him. X pulls the leg violently, and Seth falls to the mat. Sam holds Seth’s right foot, and begins to lift it up in the air, and then slams his knee down onto the mat. Sam continues the painful move and only stops when he deems necessary. X grabs Seth’s leg again, and stomps the inside of his knee, adding more pain. X hooks legs, and falls down. Sam pulls on the leg, almost pulling the knee out of it’s socket with that leg lock. Seth fights back, and kicks Sam’s hands, breaking the hold. Sam stumbles to his feet, as does Seth. Akira charges Sam, and clotheslines him over the top rope! Both men crash to the outside in this war. Seth gets to his feet first, and lifts Sam to his feet. Akira whips Sam into the barricade, smashing his back on the metal blocks. Seth charges Sam again, but X reacts quickly enough, and boots Akira in the head. Seth stumbles backwards as Sam gets back on the assault. X pummels him with fists, driving him back to the ring apron. Sam steps backwards, then lunges forward, and superkicks Seth right in the face! Seth crumples forward, but Sam catches him on his shoulder. X rolls Seth back into the ring, and climbs up to the top rope. Seth is rolled out close to the middle of the ring as Sam sets himself up. X leaps off, going for a leg drop! Sam connects, slamming his right leg over Seth’s neck! X quickly covers and hooks the leg.
“1….2…”
Akira kicks out! Sam looks dumbfounded, and asks the ref. X relents, and lifts Seth to his feet, and delivers a toe kick to the midsection. Sam whips Akira across the ring, bouncing him against the ropes. Seth comes rebounding back with a flying clothesline to Sam! X falls to his back as Seth immediately gets back to his feet. Sam gets up, clothesline by Seth! Akira runs over, and hits a senton on Sam! Seth picks Sam up, and pushes him into the corner. Seth whips Sam across the ring, into the other corner. X bounces off the corner from impact, and stumbles out. Seth sprints across the ropes behind Sam, and hits a bulldog on one half of the tag team champions! Sam bounces head first on the mat as Seth uses his momentum to continue the offensive. Seth grabs Sam by the back, and lifts him to his feet. German Suplex! No! Sam flips over, and grabs Seth by the waist, spinning German Suplex by Sam! X holds on, an a second German Suplex! Sam keeps his hold, and a third German Suplex! Sam throws his arms out in an “X position” as he begins to set up for the Void Slam. Akira makes his way up, and Sam picks him up horizontally to his chest. X swings Seth around, but Akira lands on his feet, grabs Sam in a Reverse DDT hold, and delivers a spine snapping Back Breaker on his knee! Seth stands Sam back up, and slams him down with a vicious STO! Seth covers X!
“1…..2….”
Sam kicks out at 2! Seth looks on in awe as X rolls away, holding his head. Akira goes over to Sam, and sets him back up on his feet. Seth gets him in a headlock, but Sam lifts Seth up in a back Suplex position. X spins around, and slams Seth with a modified one arm powerbomb! X goes over to the turnbuckle and springboards himself up on the top rope, and immediately bounces off with a Moonsault! Sam crashes onto Seth with the entire force of his body, and hooks the leg.
“1….2….”
Seth kicks out at 2! Sam ignores the count, and hooks the leg again.
“1…2…”
Seth kicks out again! Sam begins to get frustrated at the ref as Seth begins to get to his feet. Sam turns around, only to be kicked in the stomach by Seth. Akira hooks the arms, and goes for the Execution, but Sam flips back down, and grabs Seth by the legs, holding him over his head. Sam spins around, but Seth rolls through with a Sunset Flip!
“1….2…..”
Kickout by Sam! Seth gets up, wanting to finish the match. Akira signals for the Execution as Sam gets back up to his feet. Seth goes for a kick, but Sam catches the leg, and spins Seth around. X bounces off the ropes….Spear! Sam has almost speared Seth Akira in half! Sam and Seth are both down as the ref begins the 10 count.
“1……2……3……4……5…….6……7...”
Sam gets up to his feet, and helps Seth up as well. Sam delivers some weak forearms to the face, backing Seth up into the corner. Shoulder block to Seth. X lifts Seth up onto the top turnbuckle, and punches him in the face. Sam begins to climb up, and wraps Seth’s head around in his arms. Sam throws Akira’s arm over his head and looks to be going for a super-plex. Seth begins to fight back, and gets Sam off balance. Seth pushes Sam off, and grabs his head, and slams his head down with a top rope face buster! Sam bounces off the canvas, as Seth looks utterly dazed. Akira begins to pick Sam up, and wraps his arms in an underhook position. Seth lifts Sam up, and drvies him to the mat with the Execution! Just then, a man slides into the ring with a chair, and completely plasters it over Seth’s head! The ref calls for the bell as the Roy stands over Seth, chair in hand.
Fink: Here is your winner by Disqualification, Seth Akira!
The Roy goes over to Sam X, and picks him up. Roy bashes the chair over his head, and Sam falls backwards into the ropes. Roy tangles his arms within the ropes. And begins to bash the chair continually over Sam’s head, blood now pouring out of a massive cut on his forehead. The fans burst into cheer as Joey Phenomenal rushes down to the ring, and chases the Roy out of the ring. The Roy points his chair at Joey Phenomenal, who tends to Sam. X looks unconscious, as the blood pours down his face. Phenomenal untangles Sam as Darrell runs down to the ring, EMTs and refs following him. They get a stretcher, and slowly put Sam on it, J.P. watching on sorrowfully. The mighty Sam X is carried out of the arena on a stretcher for the first time.
vs.
Joey Phenomenal vs. The Roy
The Roy slides into the ring behind Joey Phenomenal, and blasts the chair on his back, knocking him down. One of the refs begins to rush down to the ring as the Roy lifts Joey up, and copies his move, the Phenomenal Cutter onto the chair! Roy slides the chair out of the ring, and waits for the ref to call for the bell.
“Ding, ding”
The Roy covers Joey, and hooks the leg.
“1…2….3!”
Fink: HERE IS YOUR WINNER, THE ROY!
Roy doesn’t celebrate, but instead, calls for a microphone.
Roy: That’s enough! I am sick of all you people underestimating me as a wrestler! I just took out the supposedly invincible Sam X! I took him out on a STRETCHER! I am dominant for once, and this will continue until Cyber Madness when I win the Intercontinental Championship!
Roy drops the mic as we cut to a commercial break.
