Saturday Night's Main Event!
Live! From The Arco Arena in Oakland, California!
9/19/09
SNME kicks off with a boom as the pyros erupt from the stage and the fans cheer wildly. The camera starts zooming in and out on the signs and fans going crazy for the last show before The Last Stop. Then we drop down to the commentator table.
Austin Owens: Hello and welcome to Saturday Night's Main Event! We are happy to see everybody tuned in. So what do we got for this week, Joey?
Joey Styles: Well this week is a very dark week in SNME, Donal McQuillian will be leaving us and his farewell match is against Dolph Ziggler. I'm sure everybody is going to be behind him on this very emotional night.
Austin Owens: On the other hand we will be seeing The Roy in action tonight! A big match against former IC Champion, Brian Danielson! This is going to be...
"I'm Comin!" hit the P.A. System and MVP and Jack Swagger walks out onto the stage with the Tag Belts around their waists. They walk down to the ring and both grab microphones before sliding into the ring.
MVP: How are ya'll doing tonight? Actually, I don't care, we are out here to let all ya'll know that we have done what no other was able to do.
Jack Swagger: And that very thing is take out Revolution! How is that for an impact? We showed them that they are nothing more than just a bunch of pansies hiding behind their title belts.
MVP: Yeah boy, we don't need any little punks walkin' around like they're all high and mighty. Hell, we even dropped "The Promise"...
Antonio Thomas' music hits the P.A. System and he walks down to the ring with a very serious look on his face. He gets a microphone and stops at the mat outside the ring.
Antonio Thomas: Who the hell do you think you are? Trying to take down me? Trying to take down The Revolution, too? You guys really think highly of yourselves, don't you?
MVP: We got a damn reason to be!
"Revolution" blares across the arena. Johnny Magnum and Naples Knight come walking out with their championships on their waists. They walks up to "The Promise" and grab microphones beside him. They stare at MVP and Swagger in disgust.
Johnny Magnum: How about, you guys show us that you have a reason to be?
Naples Knight: I like that idea, Johnny. How about you guys grab a tag team partner and face us three in that ring tonight?
Jack Swagger: You're making a mistake boys. We'll see you in that ring later.
Swagger and MVP drop their microphones and look cockily at Naples, Johnny and Antonio. They continue staring back as the scene cuts to a commercial break.
Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy and Van Dam had one of the most back and forth low card matches there has been in SNME in a long while. Jeff had nailed a Twist Of Fate on Rob Van Dam about mid-way through the match and everybody thought that was it. No! RVD was able to get his legs on the rope at the last moment. Jeff couldn't believe his eyes when the ref stopped counting. RVD starting pulling toward a moment shift and finally got Jeff down on the mat. RVD climbed the ropes and hit a 5 Star Frog Splash to pick up the victory.
The Miz vs. Suicide
The Miz was making his SNME debut against Suicide and he came out with a head of steam. Suicide was getting bullied around the ring in the early stages of his match. Suicide would go for a punch and Miz would come back with a suplex. Suicide would go for super kick and get tossed across the ring. Nothing was going right for Suicide. Miz got a little arrogant and Suicide capitalized. Suicide started getting crazy and would repeatedly drop The Miz to the canvas. The Miz looked like he was in trouble of losing his debut to Suicide. However, after a bridging German suplex, Miz used the ropes for leverage to pick up his debut win over Suicide.
"Headstrong" by Trapt blasts over the PA system. The fans all give a massive pop for the World Heavyweight Champion as he makes his way down the ramp, his World Title slung around his shoulder. He runs up the stairs and gets into the ring, grabs a mic, and takes his shades off and places them on the front of his shirt. He adjusts his hat with a smile on his face and brings the microphone to his mouth.
The Roy: Shelton Benjamin. A man who many think will beat me this Sunday. What makes them so sure though? Shelton has done nothing in this buisness that makes him great. Not one accomplishment of his can match up to those that I've accomplished. I'm a record setting three time Custom Champion! How many championships has Shelton Benjamin one? None. Zero. Zilch. Shelton Benjamin prides himself on that briefcase he carried for a few weeks before SNME closed last year. He prides himself on ending the undefeated streak of G Stone... who I beat to win this championship... He prides himself on... being a phenomenal athlete? Well Shelton, if that's what you say you are, even if it's true, this sport isn't about doing back flips and being able to keep your balance on the top rope. This is war, buddy. And just like any war, strategy is the name of the game...
AINT NO STOPPIN ME NOW!!! The fans begin to boo as the cocky, self proclaimed Gold Standard struts down the ramp wearing a clean white button up and black dress pants. Shelton holds a microphone in his hand as he stares down the ramp at The Roy. Shelton walks up the steps and enters the ring, the fans still booing him.
Shelton Benjamin: Real cute, Roy. Coming out here and making it look like I don't deserve this match? I won Money in the Bank. I won the right to call myself a future World Champion, as if it wasn't obvious from the start of my career. I'm one of the fasted rising stars to ever step foot in a SNME ring! And this Sunday, I become the first African-American SNME Champion in history!!
The Roy: You sure about that Shelton? My forecast says otherwise and I'm sure all these fans here in Oakland will agree that, that won't be the case, for The Roy will be walking out of The Last Stop... still the World Heavyweight Champion!
The fans all cheer for The Roy. Roy smirks as he looks on at a scowling Shelton Benjamin.
Shelton Benjamin: You think the fans cheering for you will bring me down, Roy? Never, not once, has the audience had an impact on my in ring performance. In fact, I'd say I perform that much better when they're booing me. It's fuel, ya know? I love being able to rub stuff in people's faces...
The Roy: No, Shelton. I'm not trying to do that. These are smart fans. They know what's up just like they know who will win this Sunday... it'll be be. Putting your face in the dirt... with some K...K...
Shelton swings at Roy, but Roy ducks and tackles him down to the mat. Roy nails shot after shot to Shelton's head. Officials try to separate them. Shelton this time takes Roy down and starts nailing him in the head. The officials pull him off for a second time. Shelton and Roy both break free at the same time and charge. Roy catches Shelton by surprise and connects with the Pay Dirt!! Shelton holds his head and face in pain. Roy picks up his World Title as officas check to make sure Shelton's ok. Roy pushes them away and stands over Benjamin. He holds the World Title high in the air as we fade out.
Donal McQuillan vs. Dolph Ziggler
In Donal's last match, the crowd was heavily behind him. The two went back and forth hitting each other with all sorts of insane moves and holds. Donal finally came out victorious when he hit a Career Ending Powerbomb, only this time it'd be the end of his career, instead of his opponent's. Donal thanked the fans as they gave him a standing ovation and chanted "Thank You Donal! Thank You Donal!". Even Dolph Ziggler got up and shook his hand. Unexpectedly, a video begins to play on the titantron. Donal looks up at the screen to see what it is...
(It's Donal, Not Cody!)
"THANK YOU DONAL!"
We cut back to the ring where the fans are chanting for Donal louder than ever. He walks up the ramp and high fives the fans before turning around and bowing, before he dissapears behind the curtain.
Winner: Donal McQuillan
The Roy vs. Bryan Danielson
In the dragon's return he looked as if he didn't miss a step. Bryan took Roy to his limits, but after reversing the Cattle Mutilation into one of his own, Bryan lost the match after a long fight to break free of the hold. After the match, Bryan looked a little disappointed as he head to the back with his head down.
Winner: The Roy
In the back, we see Bryan Danielson walking with his head hung a little low after his loss. Walking towards him is Johnny Magnum and Naples Knight. Bryan and Naples brush their shoulders against one another.
Naples Knight: Pffh... you're pathetic.
With a confused look on his face, Bryan looks at Naples, holding his head.
Naples: You're a has been... give it up.
Johnny Magnum: Don't, Naples. We gotta match coming up next..
Naples smirks at Danielson, who still looks confused. Naples and Johnny then walk off to the curtain for their match.
Dolph Ziggler is walking in the back down a hall when he runs into a familiar face around the SNME area...
Dolph Ziggler: What do you want?
Rob Van Dam: I just wanted to wish my buddy some good luck in the Custom Invitational at The Last Stop, what's your problem?
Dolph: First of all, we are not buddies and second of all...
Mercennario: Hey guys, it's good to be back in SNME, how about that Custom Invitational?
Dolph: Um... Who exactly are you?
Kazarian: How are you all doing?
Dolph seems frustrated and slaps Kazarian across the face. He smiles before Kaz tackles him. As if Mercennario and RVD feel left out they start getting involved hitting each other with lefts and rights. Joey Legend comes from down the hall and leaps into the mess of men just brawling. The Custom Division is just gnawing at each other, nobody wants to wait for The Last Stop. The scene cuts out while everybody continues brawling backstage.
Antonio Thomas, Johnny Magnum, and Naples Knight vs. MVP, Jack Swagger, and G Stone
Things started with Johnny and MVP. The two went back and forth with moves, before Jack attacked Magnum behind the ref's back. They tagged in Stone, but Magnum managed to get a tag to Antonio before damage was done. Antonio got pummeled like a bitch by G Stone, having to get help from Naples Knight. The two PPV opponents grappled, until Stone tagged in Jack. Naples hit an Italian Stalion on Jack after a while and Magnum hit the Gunshot on MVP. It appeared they were going to win, but Jack kicked out! Naples tagged in Promise and Jack tagged in G Stone after Naples had applied the Sharp Shooter for minutes. Promise ran at Stone, but Stone hit a big boot on him. Jack and MVP ran around and pulled Magnum and Naples off the apron and started beating them down. Stone hit his finisher and pinned Thomas. After the match, MVP and Swagger rolled in and started beating down Thomas. Chance ran down and started beating up Magnum, the fight along with Naples and Stone's flying fists would be taken into the crowd... we turn our attention back to MVP and Swagger beating down Antonio Thomas when...
The fans jump from their seats as "Sexy Boy" blares over the PA system. MVP and Jack jolt their heads towards the stage, sure enough to see the Heart Break Kid running down. Shawn slides in the ring, and ducks a punch from MVP and knocks him on his ass, then does the same to Jack. MVP rolls out of the ring as Jack struggles to find where he is. Shawn backs up and throws his foot in the air, but MVP pulls Jack away before foot meets chin. MVP and Jack walk up the ramp staring at Shawn as he grabs a microphone.
Shawn Michaels: "You wanna make an impact?! Huh!? Well I'm gonna give you the opportunity! This Sunday at The Last Stop it'll be you two versus the team of The Promise Antonio Thomas and none other than good 'ol HBK... Shawn Michaels!"
Shawn drops the microphone and attends to Promise as he stares down the ramp at MVP and Jack Swagger, who look worried about their future. Shawn helps Promise to his feet and the stare down between the four continues as SNME goes off air.
