Man:
When The Priest comes to read me the last rights.
I take a look through the bars and the last sights.
It's a world that has gone very wrong for me.
A man is on his knees in a very dirty and old prison cell. His wrists and ankles all connected in shackles to the iron bars that separate him form the outside world. The cell he is in, is very small, there is not even a bed so it is believed he hasn't be in this "home" for long. He recites the words in what seems to be a prayer or as if he needed to say something. The camera looks around to see there are many cells on the one floor prison section. There is a very dusty, worn sign made out of wood that is hanging by a chain near the entrance that says "Death Row." There are only a few men in the prison, all far apart from each other. The man hears foot steps and slowly tilts his head up to see that there are two men in uniforms that approach his cell. They open it and the man clasps his hands together and starts mumbling something as he tilts his head back down. The men grab him by his arms and pick him up off the ground. He is escorted out of the cell block and seemingly taken outside, seeing as that when the door is opened, a great deal of light shines through. The camera goes down the hall, seeing all the men on their knees, there are 6 in total, all seemingly praying. More footsteps are heard down the halls. The next closest man looks up to see if his time as come. It hasn't... Yet. He begins crying and then the camera reveals that there is a priest walking down the hall with a book in hands. He begins speaking to the prisoner as the tears begin to rapidly fall down his face. As the priest finishes his words (the prisoner's last rights) the man lashes out and screams "GO TO HELL!" The priest continues walking away, not phased at all by the man's words... More footsteps... The man looks up...This time it's neither a priest, nor an officer...
Man (not yet revealed):
Woe to thee, oh, Earth and sea, for the Devil sends his beast with wrath because he knows the time is short... Sir... You and I both know that your time on this planet is very short and your life shall come to a close. With an attitude like that, your soul shall be eternally damned, do you want that?... Why are you so silent? Oh yes... Your time on this planet is going to be cut short because of your actions. Seeing as that you are moving on from this land to the depths of hell... Would you like to take part in a final act or perhaps give a final few words? Speak... I'll have to take that as a no, then.
Your weakness is pathetic. You can not even own up to your own wrongful doings? You rather just sit here in silence waiting for the final bell to toll, for the last second to tick away, for platform to be dropped? Speak, you sad excuse for a man. Let me know that you are not dead, yet barely alive. You committed the crimes that you did and now you must pay with your life, sir. Do you understand that unless you apologize and beg and pray to the lord you will suffer in the pits of hell for all of eternity? Being headstrong was your downfall and you dare lash out at a man of God? Now your true colors are splattered all over the walls for everyone to see. You opened up a gateway straight to hell, sir. You are less than a man, barely deserving the title of "sir." But then again... The same can be said for every "human"...
The camera zooms out from the shot that only captured the man on his knees and the man's legs. It turns out that the man standing there next to the cell is Naples Knight. He continues to stare at the man before blandly saying "Take him." The guards come and escort the man away from the cell block. Naples is dressed in a casual attire with dressy pants and a button up shirt on. He is in all black, including his black beanie that he usually wears. Naples continues walking very slowly through the block before stopping at a cell about 5 away from the previous one. This man is sitting against the back wall in a fetal position, awaiting his turn.
Naples Knight:
God be with you.
Prisoner:
If there's a God, then why does he let me go?
Naples Knight:
Blessed art thou who cannot see, yet believe. You seem to not accepted the faith that you have dictated for yourself. You think that God has put you in this position when you did something that put you here. God gives you a fork in the road every time you are asked to make a decision and a lot of people do things that they shouldn't be doing. Things they may or may not regret. You have done something along the road that put you in the breakdown lane. However, it is too late to be fixed, too late to go back, your soul is going to be tortured for the rest of your after life and you have done nothing but deserve it. One silly, small mistake has put you here, in this cell, where you wait patiently for the sands of the hourglass to flow away. The sands of time for you... Are running low, my friend. God be with you in your likely journey through hell.
The man opens his mouth as if he has something to say. He simply hangs his head in shame before standing up and walking up to the bars. He gets as close to the bars as he possibly can and solemnly whispers "There isn't a God." Naples smiles at him before waving his hands. Naples chuckles a little bit as a loud buzz is heard and the man's bars open as guards push Naples away to take the man away. His eyes open wide and he appears to be extremely scared. He is begging and pleading with them and begins to shout a prayer "Our Father! Who art in Heaven! Ha..." Naples begins laughing loudly as his laugh echos throughout the block. He continues his journey down the hall to meet the next prisoner who is standing there with a single tear drop at his chin.
Prisoner:
My tears are flowing... But why am I crying?
Naples Knight:
Your tears are good thing, sir. They show that you have accepted your fate and you are ready to face death. You understand there is no turning back and whatever lies ahead can be dealt with. Maybe God will realize this and you won't suffer for the rest of eternity because of the silly decisions you have made... I'm sorry that I'm getting a little off topic, but I just feel like I need to share this with somebody. While talking about your pathetic misfortunes, your life reminds me so much of... Of... Bryan Danielson. You made a decision to do something, something you thought could change your life for the better or the worse and it wound up being the worst choice of your life. You lost sanity for a moment, just a moment... The moment that decided your fate, that changed everybody's perspective on you. You've been here before... In the cold square that served as a temporary home... You left, thinking your life needed change and then you wind up right here once again... I'm sorry I got carried away... I'm trying to spread the word of God to the eternally damned... Sir, I do apologize for my episode, I'm just a little filled with anger myself. Anyway...
Naples looks back up at the man after trying to "shake off" his episode. He looks at the man in amazement. He rubs his eyes but the image he sees in-place of the man remains. Naples sees Bryan Danielson standing in the cell. After shaking rapidly, the man returns to normal. He looks, with a very hallow stare, right at Naples who begins walking away, still a bit stunned by what he thought he just saw. Naples takes a few deep breaths before reaching the next cell to see a man who is bawling his eyes out. He is making "crying sounds" if you will. He is causing quite a scene, but who could blame him...
Naples Knight:
Please, for the love of God, shut your mouth before the prisoners kill you themselves. You have a problem, you have not accepted your fate. God will save thy soul if you just... Shut the fuck up! You, like the man that stands opposite me at The Last Stop, must have no pride in what you have done in your life. Think of all the things you must have accomplished in your life before you chose to put yourself in this position. I'm sure you had a fine list of things you were proud of and threw it all away with the one mistake... As if you were returning from what seemed to be a retirement... You are just like Bryan Danielson, you and every one of this multi-felony charged scum in this block. Do you understand that you have forced yourself into the misery that you are about to endure for the rest of eternity? Everybody laughing at you for trying to be successful again. Everybody MOCKING your pathetic attempt to become a fraction of a man you once were. You'll lose to a man that was spit on and you'll get sent off in the most pathetic way possible. How does that make you feel to know that I SINGLE-HANDEDLY made the legacy that you created look like NOTHING! The hell you will endorse Danielso... I... I'm so sorry. I think it's best that... I'm gonna move on, God be with you...
Naples looks kind of upset as he begins walking away from the cell. The man continues bawling before screaming out "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" This catches Naples' attention as he turns around and walks back to the cell.
Naples Knight:
Sir... With me... Nothing is wrong... The pits of hell are where, I PROMISE, you will be spending the rest of your days. Take him next.
Naples looks dead in the man's eyes and begins laughing at him before he walks away. The man still cries very heavily. Naples walks down the cell block, demonically grinning. A buzz is heard as the cries intensify. Naples doesn't even look back, his smile just widens. He walks down to the very end of the cell block. He stops and looks straight at the white wall. He takes note of the man in the cell to his immediate left but doesn't look at him. He just continues to smile while facing the wall.
Naples Knight:
Hi Bryan. I've been waiting for such a long to meet you. Not to meet you, I'm sorry. To meet you alone. Mano y mano if you catch my drift, Mr. Danielson. I knew of your presence in the locker room and took note of the legacy that you have created. A man, that in this business, created an iconic name for himself. I don't know what to say... I am just so happy that we could get this quality time together. The Last Stop... For you at least... Not for me, Bryan. You see, Danielson, this, although The Last Stop on your epic career, is the beginning of my legacy. Just as you became as big as the Earth in SNME, it is time to pass down the torch to a man more fitting. A man that doesn't make bad decisions, such as yourself. Why did you come back for the short time you did? Did you seek embarrassment? Did you want to try and expand on your legacy by beating and maybe one day taking the World Championship from The Roy? Your logic failed you, if that was truly the case. Now... You're taking a turn for the worst after you step in that ring with me, Danielson. You're not going to be lifted by the hands of God... You're going south of Heaven. To rot with the souls of those who sit here in anticipation of their "un-timely" deaths. They say the root of all evil is a black soul... So what happens when you have no soul to begin with?
Naples looks to his left where a prisoner is in a very dull orange jump suit. To the world's surprise, it looks EXACTLY like Bryan Danielson. It is very possible that this is an illusion that Naples is seeing but he continues talking to the "imagination." He walks up cell bars and reaches through the opening. He signals for the Danielson pigmentation to take Naples' hands. Eventually, and very reluctantly, Bryan takes Naples' hands.
Naples Knight:
If you know it, join in with me at any time, alright? Here we go, repeat after me... Our father. Who art in Heaven. Hallowed Be Thy Name. By Kingdom come. Thy will be done. On Earth. As it is in Heaven... Bryan? Do you not know the Lord's prayer? Alright, I guess you're shy when it comes to meeting new people. We'll try again, this time start with me, I know you know it. Here we go... Our father. Who art in Heaven.
Bryan Danielson(pigmentation):
Hallowed be thy name...
Naples Knight:
And I promise you that my name will be hallowed. My name is your religion and you will praise me at morning, noon and night. I am ending a legacy, a God like act and although it is the legacy you have created, you will bow to my accomplishment, Danielson.
Naples pulls Danielson to the bars. Naples gets as close to the bars as possible with out touching Danielson's face.
Naples Knight:
You should have stayed retired, do you understand!? Why are you here right now!? You can't be here, this has to be fake. Why would Bryan Danielson want to return just to lose the name he built for himself. He returned for what? To lose to The Roy? To get sent off by Naples Knight? WHY ARE YOU HERE!?... It doesn't matter... It's not as much as why you're here or how you show up, it's all about how you finished, or how you GET finished. You're send off will not be one of tears of happiness, it will not be one of joy, it will not be the celebration of your career. It will be a man, or whatever I am, spitting on the legacy of Bryan Danielson. Of your amazing career in SNME. You couldn't just stay away? If you had to come back and face Roy and myself, you couldn't just accept your lose to Roy and realize you are not the man you once were? I am filling the void for Bryan Danielson. I am becoming the living legacy of Saturday Night's Main Event. And when I beat you and send you off a mess of a man and everybody is laughing at you... The fans... The staff... The roster... Will praise me... They will look at me as more than a legacy, but a God-like figure... And you, Danielson... Worship me... Do you hear me? WORSHIP ME! ACCEPT NAPLES KNIGHT AS YOUR GOD! REALIZE THAT MY NAME IS SACRED!
Bryan Danielson(pigmentation):
HALLOWED... Hallowed... Be... Thy... Name...
Naples' grip on the Danielson pigment loosens very slowly as he continues to stare down into the struggling and upset looking man. As the grip decreases in strength, Naples' smile intensifies. He begins laughing hysterically as he completely releases Danielson's hands and he goes, quickly, to the back wall. Naples laughs as loud as he ever has. The camera watches Naples walks away from the cell and out the door where the men who were being brought to the gallows were escorted through. The camera spins back to the cell where a man who looks normal and nothing at all like Bryan Danielson is holding his chest with his back up against the far wall of the cell. The scene slowly fades to black.
